The activity at the beginning was a good refresher, but I didn't help a lot with the desmos activity for me. This activity was a bit of a struggle for me at first. It took me a while to catch on. It finally clicked the next day in class for some reason and now it makes more sense. The secant line becomes closer to being it dental to the tangent line the closer the two points get to each other.

This week we reviewed some more limits things. We also reviews continuity. One new thing we learned was salt and pepper functions. Those took me a sec to get the hang of, but they weren't to bad. The thing I really didn't like about them was having to explain them. Proofs are the worst. I don't mind explaining it to someone in the class, but I hate writing it all down. But I think there is going to be a lot of proofs in AP Calc, so I better get used to it.
Well this week was the second week of AP Calc. So far it isn't hard. One thing I learned this week is the sandwich/squeeze theorem. We had a few problems on the assignment about it, and we hadn't learned about it yet so I looked in the book and figured it out. The book explanation was decent enough I figured it out. Then next day he explained it in class, which I think most people didn't understand (lol honors kids). Luckily I get it so I think I'm a little ahead in that part. But he also said it's not that important. Other than that, I don't think I learned anything new this year. We reviewed some limit things from last year.
Well, this has been the first week in Calc. So far its been pretty easy considering we haven't learned any thing yet. The first few days were just talking about how the class was going to go. Then we got a packet reviewing the stuff last year. Even though its boring its helpful to remember all the stuff we did last year because we'll need to use it this year. I honestly don't know what else to write for this blog post. I think most other blog posts will be easier because there will be more to talk about. Well the thing said to talk about a topic we did and talk about it in depth so lets do that. Some of the problems you had to find the volume. They were the easiest in the packet. I could have done them in 4th grade. The rest of the packet not so much. One thing kind of interesting I noticed was the difference between the people that took honors pre-calc and the people that took normal pre-calc. The main difference was, that there really was no difference. Everyone was at the same level. I had to explain certain parts to my table, who had all taken honors. I'm not really sure why this is, but my guess would be the teachers. But I don't want to rip on the honors teachers. Maybe the honers kids will be ahead later in the year.
